Keeping Gobiodon Citrinus in an Aquarium

Gobiodon citrinus, also known as the yellow coral goby, is a popular saltwater aquarium fish that many hobbyists love to keep for its vibrant yellow color and unique personality.

Tank Size and Setup

To keep Gobiodon citrinus healthy and happy, it's recommended to provide them with a minimum tank size of 20 gallons. These fish love to hide, so be sure to include plenty of live rock and other hiding places in your aquarium.

Water Conditions

Gobiodon citrinus prefer water temperatures between 72-78°F (22-26°C) and a pH level of 8.1-8.4. They are sensitive to sudden changes in water conditions, so make sure to maintain stable water parameters.

Diet

Gobiodon citrinus are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods, including frozen and live brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and other small invertebrates. It's also important to offer them algae and seaweed to ensure a healthy and balanced diet.

Behavior and Compatibility

These fish are peaceful and should be kept with other non-aggressive fish. They may become territorial towards their own kind or other similar-looking fish, so it's best to keep them in pairs or solo.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Gobiodon citrinus are relatively low-maintenance fish, but regular water changes and tank cleanings are essential to keeping them healthy. Be sure to also test your water regularly to ensure proper water quality.

Livestock can be fragile. If your animal does not meet our standards at the time your shipment is being packed, we will notify you and give you a credit toward another piece of livestock. Our goal is to provide you with the healthiest livestock possible, and we’ll do our best to ensure it gets to you safely. Cash refunds are not available for livestock, only credit toward other livestock.

Local pick-up: Our online stocklist may be different than what’s available for in-store pickup. Please call 385-800-6711 for in-store availability. You may order livestock online for local pick-up, and your order will be ready for pick up the following Tuesday or Wednesday after it’s placed.
